Principal's Weekly Message

Posted Date: 04/17/26 (02:45 PM)

Happy Friday Edna Families and Community Members!

Now that we have returned from Spring Break, it is a quick journey to the end of the school year. Much occurs between now and the end of the school year, and we appreciate all your efforts to ensure that your students are in school on time and every day.

Have a great weekend and see you on Monday,

Daniel

Reporting Attendance:

As a reminder, the most efficient way to report your student’s absence to the school is via email to ednamaguire@mvschools.org

Moving to another school next year?

For our current TK-4th grade families: If your student will not be returning to Edna next year, please email me (dmccord@mvschools.org). This will help us better plan for the next school year. Thank you.

Ms. B is back!

Bethany Womack (Ms. B) is back and resuming her role as Edna’s Art Teacher. If you haven’t yet met Ms. B or want to welcome her back, please stop by the Art Studio (Room 28). She’s been missed and we’re glad she’s back!

Food Drive:

The Student Council wants to thank everyone who donated to the food drive. I was able to deliver the donations, at the recommendation of ExtraFood.org, to Marin City’s People’s Inter-City Fellowship. The donations were gratefully received.

Broken Slide (Play Structure):

You may have noticed that one of the slides on the large play structure was damaged over Spring Break. It has been caution taped off and students are not using it during the school day. We are ordering a replacement piece though we do not yet have an estimated delivery date. We have noticed students playing on this part of the structure after school when there is no staff supervision. We would ask that the adults monitoring their students after school help keep students safe by reminding them to stay off this part of the play structure.

From our PTA DEI Team:

The Connection Corner

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee Update

Students at Edna have shared that they feel a strong sense of belonging at school. That feeling of being welcomed, supported, and included plays an important role in helping them feel confident and connected in their learning experience.

Let's Get Thinking?

How can we help our children stay curious and open to learning about others?

Stay tuned for more ways to connect and build community!

We’d love to hear from you. Feel free to share your thoughts, reflections, or stories with us at dei@ednamaguire.org. Your voice matters. Be part of the conversation.

From Tam High School:

Tam High Leadership is partnering with Tam’s Music Department to host a fun, family-friendly community event on April 25 from 12–2 PM: Day on the Green!

The event will take place at the Arches near the front of Tam High, where our music department will be performing live for all Mill Valley students, parents, and residents! There will be food, bake sales, Tam merch, games and club booths. We would love for your students and families to stop by and get a glimpse of the Tam community and the numerous programs and activities offered.
